20.02 – Monday
Since there are some project delays (on current ones and upcoming), in the meantime we can use a few more days on studying and documentation – on Monday I started writing the internship report. Additionaly, I was following the JavaScript course called “33 JS Concepts” – being a huge library of JavaScript learning sources, I found this time really valuable. Moreover, I was coding a little side project that I started recently in Electron.js
21.02 – Tuesday
Tuesday was more focused on writing the report – after making the grounds on a previous day, I went further and wrote around 3 pages. Because I usually don’t like postponing the report, I was glad that I had time for that during this week. What is more, I was following sources from the 33 JS Concepts and coding the side project. After the talk with my supervisor at Illumi, I also set up a meeting with him and one of my mentors on Thursday that will be a feedback session, discussion about the final project and my future perspectives.
22.02 – Wednesday
On Wednesday I was working on another side project that I opened. Moreover, I was learning JavaScript theory with the emphasis on the HTTP Networking, testing the CSS Grid advanced features and went through the Umbraco API documentation.
23.02 – Thursday
Thursday started with the meeting with my supervisor and mentor at Illumi. The purpose was the assesement of my work at the internship, feedback on it and future career, initial talking about the main project that I will do at Illumi for the final thesis at Multimedia Design programme.
The outcome was really positive – I’ve been told that my performance is considered great and the company is truly glad about my curiosity and willingness to grasp all new knowledge, attitude, as well as my overall participation in Illumi’s work – all of these things make me a good potential employee. They would like me to work with them for the main project, which I was also interested in. The topic is still to be discussed further, but I was informed, that the company is really open for all ideas and everything will be possible to accommodate.
What is more, during the day me and one of my co-interns started working on another project – we are helping with moving the DK-Camp website from Umbraco 8 to Umbraco 11. During this day we managed to create sample versions and fix rendering of all elements (models and views for Umbraco elements).
24.02 – Friday
The day was spent on working on the DK-Camp project. In cooperation with my co-intern and help from mentor, Ryan, I was creating models and views for all elements, including shared ones. Changing from Umbraco 8 to Umbraco turned out to be challenging, but also a great source of new knowledge and experience with the CMS.
