06.03 – Monday
This week started with doing a short code cleanup before the code review session regarding the DK-Camp project components with our mentor Dan. Unused and commented lines were deleted. Later, I was working on the internship report – including searching for proper examples and taking screenshots. Moreover, I had a short talk about the upcoming meeting that will kick off my final project. The code review with Dan went smoothly – he made with us a few slight corrections and helped to finish the Date Picker that we started implementing, but didn’t finish due to the complexity of the old source code.
07.03 – Tuesday
On Tuesday we started some preparations for our upcoming main project. Because at 14:00 the design introduction meeting with Jimmi, Illumi’s designer, was scheduled, we received a task to copy the Baseline and start foundations for the project. Therefore, me and co-intern made a new repository using the Baseline (Illumi’s template for all projects) and started setting up the variables, buttons, typography etc. – we already got access to the Figma file, so we could easily do that. What is more, I was also writing the internship report. During the meeting we were introduced to the whole design with details – now the project is ready to be kicked off for us and we can move further with creating components.
08.03 – Wednesday
Wednesday was spent mainly on report writing and discussing the upcoming final project – we also set up a meeting with the project manager for the next day to gather all necessary information, performed initial desk research about the client and established some plans regarding the components for the whole solution.
09.03 – Thursday
Thursday started with the meeting with the team working on Provas project (the one that will work as my final project) and project manager. Me and my co-intern gathered a lot of valuable information and insights about the company, needs for the project, most crucial elements and parts that they would like to implement. For the rest of the day I was working on the report and preparing some fundamental elements for the upcoming Provas project.
10.03 – Friday
Firday was fully spent on report writing – finishing and working on its design.
13.03 – Monday
Since half of this week is final period of my internship, me and my co-internm who I will be doing the final project with, started more preparations for it. We started doing the frontend – markup and styling for the components, according to the Figma file that was introduced to us a week ago. In a few days the project will have an official kickoff, we’ll set the tasks on ClickUp – platform for time and tasks tracking, set up everything what’s needed and start the Umbraco backoffice.
14.03 / 15.03 – Tuesday and Wednesday
Further works on the final project setup and the end of the internship.
